ALL THAT GLITTERS IS COLD

December 8th, 2011

Over in Flotsam & Jetsam, we’ve got the cover of an Unlikely Little Golden Book. It’s The Walking Dead! Head on over and check it out!

Speaking of the dead, I bet you thought this site was among them, but here we are with new content… but in case we don’t check back in in the next couple of weeks, here’s a handy link back to our ol’ Christmas comedy section.

TWITS & TWEETS: WINTHROP & IMPORTANT FACTS

April 7th, 2011

New today: Winthrop Merriweather Pinfeather-Smythe returns in “A Visit From Father” - a story in which our little gentleman’s pater returns from his latest adventure, and Winthrop sees an opportunity to get revenge on an enemy. It’s stands alone, but if you’d like to read earlier Winthrop tales too, you can find several on our Flotsam and Jetsam page.

Elsewhere, several writers who have contributed to the Cap’n in the past, along with several who haven’t are now teaming up on Twitter bringing you Important Facts from Leading Scientists. If you’re Twitter, you’ll probably want to follow them here: http://twitter.com/#!/Important_Facts

Speaking of super-heroes. The Batman & Rockin’ series has wrapped up. you can see all of the bat-album covers here.

LINKS, DRAWINGS, CHRISTMAS

December 21st, 2010

Lots of drawling posts to update you on since last time.

Two Batman & Rockin’, first this cover of Sonic Youth’s “Goo”, and for our Christmas special, this bat-take on the soundtrack to a Charlie Brown Christmas by the Vince Guaraldi Trio (I must admit I am proud of Charlie Brown’s shirt squiggles becoming the Bat on Batman’s chest).

Remember the Princesses of Power series from this summer? Well, since there’s a new Disney Princess, I made another faux comic book cover. Here’s Rapunzel.

Calamity Jon Morris has started a new blog, Cornered!, dedicated to artistic recreations of comic book cover corner boxes. Today has my take on the original X-Men corner box.

And just to prove that I still care, I’ll post one more thing here before I even post it in my blog. Merry Christmas from Yukon Cornelius:

Wahoooooooooooooo!

Don’t forget, Cap’n Wacky’s Boatload of Yule is still full of holiday cheer!

Batman & Rockin’: The Beginning

November 29th, 2010

This week’s Batman & Rockin’ is a bit of a departure. 1)It’s for an album that’s not even out yet (until tomorrow) and 2) I didn’t actually draw any of it, but created it all on the (Bat) computer.

Check out the Dynamic Duo’s version of The Black Eyed Peas’ The Beginning right here.

And if you missed last week’s Wham’s Make it Big

PRINCESS PICKLE GOES TO FANTASYLAND

November 18th, 2010

Hey, we have a new list for you today. This week, the princess of Jersey Shore visited the home of the fairytale princeses: Disney World. Find out what happened here.

Meanwhile, in Gotham City, there are two more Batman and Rockin’s for you: Batman and Robin outshine Bono and the edge when they cover U2’s Rattle and Hum and get by with a little help from their friends (and enemies) when they cover The Beatle’s Yellow Submarine.

STILL ALIVE/BATMAN AND ROCKIN’

November 1st, 2010

Dear Wackiteers,

Forgive our uncharacteristically long and totally unannounced summer break. Sometimes it’s hard to say goodbye to the sunny months. However, we’re still here and actually have something new for you today! Over at his blog, capnwacky.com co-founder Brodie H. Brockie has posted the first in a series called Batman and Rockin’, recreations of famous ablum covers using the Dynamic Duo. Check out the first installment: Appetite for Destruction. More to come every Monday for a while, plus Friday updates will resume her soonish, though they may be slightly sporadic for a little while still. Keep checking back!

June 24th, 2010

Ready to be more awesome? We have another new helpful HOW TO essay entitled “HOW TO quit smoking.” It’s about quitting smoking and how to do it. Clarity in nomenclature. Check it out, along with the rest of our HOW TO articles here!

ALSO: the Fourth of July is coming up! Make your friends’ Independence Day independently hilarious by telling them to Cap’n Wacky’s Boatload of Patriotic Enthusiasm!

ALSO: You did something different with your hair, didn’t you? No? Well, something looks just great today. Whatever you’re doing, keep it up!

EMPIRE + 30. NOW: SITC2. WHITHER PROGRESS?

May 28th, 2010

It’s Memorial Day weekend. Summer is finally here, which means there must be some fun movies to watch in the theaters now, right? Zonar lets us know why he’s not watching Robin Hood, Shrek 4, Letters to Juliet, Prince of Persia, and keep scrolling to yesterday’s post for a special all Sex in the City 2: The Four Whorseman of the Apocalypse post.

Yikes. Well at leat you can re-watch The Empire Strikes Back, which turned 30 this week. What more excuse is needed to post the link to Cap’n Wacky’s Death Star of Fun again?
