Oh, sure it's all over the news, and those folks over at thesmokinggun.com think they've broken the big story on the literary scandal of the year (and less than a month into it!), but our crack team of researchers has done a little digging and found a million more reasons to pester Oprah for a book club refund.
Please fasten your safety belts and return your seats and trays to their upright and locked position. We're about to be landing on The Monsters' Republic of Monstairia.
First off- some business. As you may know, we recently lost our public relations guy. We've posted the job, in case anyone's interested. I'd suggest reading through some of the site's archives, especially the Disgruntled Employee of the Month feature, before you think of applying.
In much more pleasant news, this week's list pays tribute to some overlooked characters in a popular film/tv franchise.
A new Monsters' Republic of Monstairia Today, and the last one before the adventure really begins.
Calamity Jon Morris very clearly elucidates the reasons exactly why he would not like to live on Big Rock Candy Mountain, thank you very much. He makes some very good points.
Also, check out his recent Virtual Food Drive Lottery. Not so many points made in that one. But still funny.
And, so you can beat those winter doldrums by not going to see a film, Zonar has another batch of reviews for you.
Welcome to Comics Wednesday! Starting this week, capnwacky.com will be presenting new comics every Wednesday in addition to our usual Friday comedy fun. So far, these Wednesdays will usually consist of the newest installment of our weekly webcomic, The Monsters' Republic of Monstairia (#2 new today!), but sometimes there will be more, like today's new episode of Martin Balsam in Space.
So, be back here on Friday AND Wednesday from now.
Because we rock.
All new features for the brand new year this week on capnwacky.com! First up, as promised last week is the launch of our brand new weekly webcomic, The Monsters' Republic of Monstairia! It's written by our own Brodie H. Brockie and illustrated by Katie Cook (Katie's homepage here)! From here one out, The Monsters' Republic (or MROM as we've taken to calling it around the office) will update every WEDNESDAY. That's right, kids. You now get a brand-new helping of humor TWICE a week at the Cap'n. Heck yes!
Our other new feature, replacing the beloved but cancelled Disgruntled Employee of the Month is The Amalgamated Humor Company Newsletter. That's where you'll get a better idea than ever before what it's like to be an Amalgamated Humor employee. And weep for us.
And that's what's new at the Cap'n... for now. Hope you like the new features and all the rest to come this year. As we always say, if you like what you see, tell your friends. If you don't, you can still tell them anyway. We don't care. If you don't like us, your friends are probably poo-heads anyway. Jerks.
See you next Wednesday AND Friday. Did we mention that?
