Winners and losers

Two, two, two brand new updates today on the Cap'n! Sorry, N2H2, no profanity today, but we will try to remain without taste.

Zonar still hasn't seen any of the movies up for this year's Academy Awards, but you didn't think that would stop him from making predictions did you? Well, he did!

Also, if you're in a nostalgic type of mood, here's another Oscar pick feature from a couple years back. Such things are timeless, you see.

Meanwhile, over in Comics, I bet The Guy Who Looks Like A Fish But Other Than That Is Just A Regular Guy (At Least Pretty Much) would love to go see some of the movies, if he could only get a date. BUT WAIT? It looks like he just might! He got a girl's phone number! See how that works out.

And congratulations Rosie and Kelly! There's a toaster in the mail from all the gang at Amalgamated Humor. Think of us whenever you enjoy toasted bread!

You probably aren't reading this right now

According to N2H2, a leading provider of internet filtering software for schools and libraries, this is our rating:

The Site: http://www.capnwacky.com
is categorized by N2H2 as:
Tasteless/Gross
Profanity

Here are their definitions-

Tasteless/Gross
Sites that include content such as tasteless humor, excretory functions (vomiting, urinating, or defecating), graphic medical or accident scene photos (containing blood or wounds), and some extreme forms of body modification (cutting, branding, or genital piercing).
Profanity
Sites that contain crude, vulgar, or obscene language or gestures. Words used in a context that the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines as "considered vulgar" or "considered obscene".
Honest, N2H2, those sections full of photos are for breast cancer education!

Watch your back, Instapundit

Always on the bleeding edge of technology, this site's parent company, Amalgamated Humor has joined the internet "web-logging" trend, by assigning one of our staff members to handling the Amalgablog. Whether this revolutionizes the way in which we communicate information to our readers or simply serves to provide busy work for an intern, only time will tell.

Wanted! More readers like Doomraisin

Someone over at The Straight Dope forums really likes us, while someone else figured out our dark, dark secret.

We Heart Every Last One of You

It's that time of year, again-- A special holiday in which you look at our Unfortunate Valentine Cards Gallery, in order to let that special someone in your life know that you deeply, deeply care for them. For, you see, that time spent away from them, at the computer, is the best possible gift, it really is. So, please give until it hurts.

Also, this week, our little tin foil ironman columnist Zonar has a new batch of movie reviews and advice up. By the by, you knew there were archives of his past reviews and columns, right? Of course you did, funny face. We were just teasing. That is how we show our love for you.

In fact, right now, turn to the person next to you and give them a big hug. If they like it, tell them that we said to do it. If they instead threaten to hit you, say it was Modern Humorist's idea.

Something new

Learning about the ocean? What was that all about?

If you're a regular (we have those?) reader of capnwacky.com, you'll notice this is something a bit different. For the others, welcome and thank you for wandering over from unfortunate cards/stick figure warning guy/choose your own adventure!

This is where you'll find out what's new on the site, where we'll tell you about interesting things we've found on this interweb of ours and where we'll alert you to some old features you may have missed. However, if you forgot to bookmark the Jimmicam and the Art Bypass, you're out of luck.

This week--
:: New Disgruntled Employee(s)-- Company bodyguards Rocko and Tiny

:: Zonar launches a new section, Mental Rays, in which he (surprise) expresses his displeasure with the recent talk about manking returning to the stars.

:: This, the new homepage, if you hadn't noticed. There will be some other changes coming down the pike in this, the year of our lord, two-thousand and four, but this the first.

If you like it or you don't, please feel free to tell us about it in our new forum.
